- Providing Calm & Compassionate Care for Life
As you may have heard, there is a new respiratory illness that is unresponsive to antibiotics being seen in dogs throughout various parts of the US.
Reported symptoms include:
-Extreme lethargy
-Loss of appetite
-Nasal discharge
-Cough
At this time, there have not been any reported cases in our area, but please contact us if your pet is exhibiting any of these reported symptoms.
The ISVMA recommends keeping your dog up to date on all vaccinations for respiratory illnesses, although this new respiratory illness is not known to be caused by any viruses or bacteria that we regularly vaccinate for. The cause of this illness is unknown at this time and is still being investigated. Avoiding contact with other dogs can reduce your pet’s risk of respiratory illnesses.
